Hi, my name is Sharee Youssef, the owner and founder of Guardian Angels Home Health Care. I started Guardian Angels in April 2005 with my daughter, Lami Azizi. Together we have vowed to make this the best in-home care agency available in our community. The idea to start Guardian Angels Home Health Care came about because of my mother, Helen Youssef. My mother had seven very loving children, all of whom would have loved to have had her live with them in their homes when that dreaded time came; however, she made it very clear that she did NOT want to leave her home of 47+ years. She wanted to stay in the home she raised her children and where she felt so comfortable and safe. My mother wanted us to know that when it was time for her to need some additional assistance, we were to hire someone to come in and care for her. I thought if my mother would want and need that kind of service then many other people would want and need it as well - thus began Guardian Angels Home Health Care.

Hi! My name is Lami Azizi, I, too, am the owner and founder of Guardian Angels Home Health Care. After being medically retired from the United States Air Force in 2019, I came back home to Sylvania, OH to take over directing Guardian Angels from my mom, Sharee. She and I started the business back in 2005, and while her perspective regarding my grandmother is still true, the nexus for my "why" is slightly different from hers. Back then, and for as far back as I can remember, I had always had a passion for helping people. When I was 15 yrs old I volunteered for a summer at what is now UTMC (MCO) - and I loved that. As soon as I was old enough to work in an assisted living facility, I got a job at Kingston of Sylvania as a Resident's Aide. When I was legally old enough to get my STNA license, I did and began working as an STNA (Kingston, Oakleaf Village, West Park Place, Sunset Village). It was that experience that opened a window to the idea of starting a home health agency with my mom. My mom had a general business background while I had the technical perspective and experience as a home health aide. The perfect pairing, Guardian Angels was founded. At that time in my life, I was not ready to work with my mom - or take what felt like a handout. So I moved to Nashville, TN and on my 23rd birthday got hired as an STNA in a facility there. While in Nashville, I challenged myself to get a job as a server to work on my social skills and eventually got to an impasse with myself where I knew I did not want to come back home, I had outgrown working in the nursing homes, I wasn't ready to re-enroll in college, and waiting tables was not for me. I was ready for a challenge and figured I could pass a PT test - so while still in Nashville, I walked into the Air Force recruiter's office. I was hired as an Air Force Medic. After serving 11 years active duty (E6) - with one tour in Afghanistan and a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology, I came home to serve my home town. The Air Force core values have always really resonated with my being.
Integrity First. Service Before Self. Excellence in all we do!
